![]() And OMG the weird charges, Wd kept count of what we did incur as far as charges for incidentals and they STILL charged us for things we didn’t use or order. Want a drink? Need something from the market? Get ready to pay twice the price. The rooms are more Holiday Inn/Hampton quality and nearly all of the amenities listed aren’t included. I’ve stayed at many resorts - even several since being vaccinated recently - and this is so plain. Where do I start? I’m genuinely surprised this is a Waldorf. Lastly, the pier at the so called beach, was literally falling down and self demolishing. Casa Marina should be ashamed and embarrassed to be charging the same price as The One and Only. If you are not familiar with the One and Only, please google it. We cancelled or trip to the One and Only Palmilla in Cabo because of Covid (fear of getting stuck in Mexico) and rescheduled our vacation to Casa Marina for the same price. Suites were better but still out dated and run down. After touring heir accommodations, we went to the front desk and politely said, “ We can’t stay in our room, we need to move to a suite”. Much nicer but still old and run down when considering this is a Waldorf Astoria property. We were traveling with another couple that stayed in the wing where the suites are located. Ironically, we could see four shrimp boats from our table, providing the island with plenty of normally priced shrimp. ![]() We just weren’t willing to spend that much on a poolside lunch. As any self-respecting person would do, we canceled our order. It became clear that our three salads (with shrimp), chips and guac, and three pina Coladas were a $300+ meal at this hotel! Seeing our aghast faces, our waiter told us that most people get 8 or 9 shrimp (spending 81 dollars on shrimp by the pool), apparently trying to pressure us into the purchase. Most (normal) salads come with 5 or 6 shrimp, meaning that we were paying $54 for shrimp on our salad- not including the cost of the salad. were informed that it would cost $9 PER SHRIMP. Wanting a quick lunch by the pool, we ordered salads, choosing to add shrimp (a normal occurrence to add protein to salads, or so you might think).
